Biography

Born in Quebec City in 1976, Claire-Alexie Turco t was always fascinated by expression in all its forms. Her overflowing creativity initially materialized through drawing and painting. Then, while still in her adolescent years, her artistic path forked from the realm of visual arts towards that of the performing ones. In 1994 she is admitted to the École de Danse de Québec for professional training in modern dance.

In 1996, a new passion led her to continue her traning elsewere with the École de Cirque de Québec. After ten years of performing in Europe and the Americas with the Cirque Éos, she felt the need to come back to the visual arts. Sculpture seemed at that point a fantastic mode of expression. She chooses to study in Techniques des Métiers d’art (with emphasis on sculpture) at the Cégep Liomoilou.

Since leaving school in 2006, she has participated in several major sculpture events, including the Symposium International de Sculpture sur bois de St-Jean-Port Joli, as an upcoming artist, as well as the Festival des Lycéens de Bordeaux in France. Lately choosing to be part of the next spring show, she will be at the One of a kind show and sale in Toronto.
